Snow Day!

We had our first snow day of the year, and boy has it been snowy!
Julia and I had an early lunch date with our mommy group, and the snow was steadily coming down the whole time we ate.
Once we left we went to pick Matthew up from school.
Our drive home was crazy, to say the least.
I almost rear ended someone because my car would not stop, and multiple cars were stuck on the top of hills.
We were very lucky to get home unscratched.
Once home, we played in the fun snow!
Love it when my house is covered in snow!

The backyard dusted.

Perfect day for hot cocoa!

Yum!

Wednesday 25% Off Salvation Army Haul

So, I now have a love for the Salvation Army near me.
They have everything organized so nicely, and I always find something I love.
I never would have thought that this store would be a place I frequent, but seeing what I have found there, it seems silly to shop elsewhere.
My kids are at an age where their clothes get messed up easily, and toys don't last long with my son.
Of course, you have to do some digging, and there are some hideous things, but there are always name brand clothes and silver pieces I love. Oh, and hardcover kids books for $.75 (on Wednesdays).
Wednesdays will probably be my favorite day of the week for awhile.
It's when both of the kids are in school until 1, and Salvation Army has the whole store marked 25% off.
Baby Gap shirt for $1.50. Perfect condition.

Queen size bed skirt. Just love the floral print! $3!

5 Pottery Barn Outlet place mats for $.75!

Hanna Anderson shirt and dress for $1.50 and $2.25. Seriously cute!

Tea brand dress for $2.25.

Gap dresses for $2.25 a piece.

Gymboree sun dresses for $2.25 a piece.
Yes, Juju does not need anymore dresses, but at these prices I couldn't pass them by!
Love me some Salvation Army Wednesdays!

Our First Trip to Chuck E. Cheese

Last night we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese.
We actually went to the one that David and I had been to as kids (was known as Showbiz Pizza then)!
The only difference I could see was that there was not a ball pit.
So there was a little nostalgia involved for us.
The kids had a blast, and Matthew is still talking about it.

Salvation Army Haul

Since both kids were in school this morning, I decided to take a trip to the local Salvation Army to see if I could score some more finds.
Apparently Wednesdays are now 25% off everything days. So, I picked the right day to come!
I love their kitchen section. Seriously some great finds!
I walked out of the store spending just over $11.
Check out the beauties below. :)
I got the adorable glass vase for $.75, and the butter dish for $3.75!

I got this glass vase for $3. It's nice to be able to add some color in my all white kitchen.

I got this dish for $3. I am sure I will tinker with where to put this, or what to put in it.
I think I will have to go again next Wednesday!

Tiny Dancer

My youngest is really coming into her own lately.
I love how you can see her imagination at work.
We went to a birthday party that was at a dance studio, and lately she has been dancing her heart out.
I was a young dancer, and can't wait to get her enrolled.

DIY French Manicure

So, I had seen a commercial for nail pens the other day, and thought that they sounded like a great idea.
BUT I was not going to pay the ridiculous shipping and handling they tack on for no reason.
Well lucky for me I happen to see similar pens at Target.
So I picked myself up the white one to try to give myself a French manicure.

The Sally Hansen pen was priced just under $6.
Just prime the tip by pushing it in a few times to get the polish ready.

The OPI color is Bubble Bath.

Not too bad. Apply one coat of the pink. Let dry. Apply two coats of the white allowing drying time in between. Cover with clear coat.

I had the other polishes in my polish collection. So for under $6 you can DIY your own French manicure many times. I think that's pretty good. The only down side is trying to do the other hand when I am right handed. So practice will probably make perfect.

Brrr...

Today has been an especially cold day in Georgia.
Currently it is 17 degrees outside. It was 4 earlier.
Partially frozen lake.

More of the ice.

So what's one to do when it's freezing outside? Dress up of course!
